I’ll never tire of promoting the rewards of music journalism.
Thanks to a recent issue of Acoustic Guitar magazine. I discovered another new favorite. Antoine Boyer.
Now just 23, and playing since the age of six, it’s hard to imagine where he goes from here. He was inspired early on by hot club jazz and flamenco, but also feels right at home with Scarlatti , Bach and Vivaldi. Then there are his stunning, fresh, and imaginative interpretations of pop classics like “Norwegian Wood ,” “The Sound of Silence,” and “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”
And then there’s his absolutely delightful collaboration with Samuelito.
